You receive some of your most lasting emotional support from those closest to you. In your case, these will be your immediate family and those with whom you have had a friendship over the course of many years, for it is the fact that they have grown close through familiarity that now makes them your nearest and dearest. You do not admit others into your circle readily, for an established social group brings with it a certain security, and you are not too much in favour of changing the pattern of the years.
